Highway Construction/Trades Scholarship Program

About the Program: The WSDOT Highway Construction Trades Scholarship program is designed to assist female, minority and socially/economically disadvantaged individuals that are residents of Washington State who want to pursue training through an approved program that leads to employment in highway construction. Individuals pursuing training in one of the trades listed below and are interested in working on highway construction projects are eligible to apply:
- Cement Mason
- Truck Driver
- Iron Worker
- Heavy Equipment Operator
- Pile Driver
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic
The scholarship amounts may vary, depending on the program. For example:
- A program that lasts 8 weeks may be covered at full or partial cost.
- A program that runs multiple quarters may be eligible to have one or more quarters’ cost covered, depending on cost per quarter.
Scholarships not only cover tuition costs, but funds may also be available to cover books and supplies needed for program completion.

Complete the application and submit to OJTSSinfo@wsdot.wa.gov. Make sure you include a letter of acceptance or enrollment into the program of your choice.
Applications will be accepted until all funds are exhausted, so apply now for priority consideration!
